Impact Texas Drivers Course

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is now requiring all drivers license applicants to complete an Impact Texas Drivers course. Applicants ages 18 to 24 years old must take the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) in addition to this 6 hour adult drivers ed course (25 or older must also take the Impact Texas Young Drivers course until Impact Texas Adult Drivers course is available). It is a free 1-hour online course, and must be completed no more than 90 days prior to the applicant taking the behind-the-wheel skills examination at the TX DPS or through a third-party tester. ITYD should be completed after the 6-hour Adult Driver Education Course. Do you need to take the the 6 hour adult drivers education course? Drivers Education of America adult drivers education online required for drivers license applicants ages 18- 24. If you are of the ages 25 or older you may also take this course and skip the written test at the TX DPS.
